An official cause of death has not been determined.\n\nDaniel Siad, 69, was reportedly under investigation by French prosecutors for trafficking tied to the late sex offender and for separate allegations of sexual crimes.\n\nHis attorney, Menya Arab-Tigrine, told ABC News that Siad's death was discovered by the sister of a neighbor. The attorney said she believed Siad had suffered a heart attack but was waiting for an official report.\n\nSiad's name appears more than 2,000 times in records released by the U.S. Justice Department in response to the[Epstein Files Transparency Act](https://abcnews.com/US/doj-internal-watchdog-review-departments-compliance-epstein-files/story?id=132319469). He recently stated in interviews with French and British journalists that Epstein had deceived him and exploited his trust.
