The [layoffs](https://www.independent.co.uk/us/money/uber-layoffs-ai-technology-b3020249.html \"Uber cuts 10% of customer service staff in favor of AI\") will primarily affect creative roles, including 23 technical directors and nine story artists, according to the state filing.\n\nA copy of the notice [shared by the outlet](https://x.com/maattttbrown/status/2080419697200398821/photo/1)shows Mrs. Incredible, also known as Elastigirl from Pixar's 2004 hit _The Incredibles_, replacing the \"I\" in the Pixar logo at the top of the letter, standing with her hands on her hips.\n\nPixar's layoff notice featured Mrs. Incredible, or Elastigirl, replacing the \"I\" in the logo while posing with her hands on her hips(Disney/Pixar/AP)\n\nThe use of Mrs. Incredible in the letter is particularly ironic, as _The Incredibles_ centers on a family of superheroes who are forced into ordinary lives after Mr. Incredible loses his job, only to eventually return to action.\n\nDisney has not publicly commented on the Pixar layoffs or the use of the _Incredibles_-themed letterhead. _The Independent_ has contacted Disney for comment.\n\nPixar's latest round of layoffs is part of Disney's cost-cutting efforts, with more than 1,000 employees expected to lose their jobs across divisions including ESPN, Disney Entertainment Television, National Geographic. The cuts are part of CEO Josh D'Amaro's \"One Disney\" restructuring strategy aimed at streamlining the company, according to [_The Hollywood Reporter_](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/new-disney-layoffs-pixar-streamlining-1236652502/).\n\nWhile Pixar's [_Toy Story 5_](https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/toy-story-nauk-nauk-app-ai-b3010668.html \"Real-life Toy Story? This start-up wants to bring your favorite characters to life\")is nearing $1 billion at the global box office, a source told [_TheWrap_](https://www.thewrap.com/industry-news/business/disney-pixar-layoffs-2026/) the layoffs may be tied to the weaker performance of the studio's March release, _Hoppers_, which barely broke even.\n\nEarlier this week, the restructuring made headlines after [ESPN and NFL Network](https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/karl-ravech-espn-layoffs-b3019496.html \"ESPN fans furious over layoffs impacting Karl Ravech: ‘Another part of my childhood is no more’\")parted ways with several big-name on-air personalities, including Karl Ravech, Cam Newton, David Lloyd and Ryan Clark.\n\nIn 2024, Pixar cut about 14 percent of its workforce, eliminating around 175 positions, with many of the layoffs affecting production and operations roles at its Emeryville studio.
